Chrusher Comix Episode #1
- Let "The Slaughter" Begin!:
The legendary/crappiest first issue from 1988 takes us into the world of 14-year-old high school freshman, Chris Crusher (Chrusher for short)
and takes us where the lost "Misadventures of Mike Butski" left off. When his friends Mike Butski and Ronald "Fool" Foule get into a fight (or is it lover's quarrel?), Chrusher gets caught in the crossfire. This starts off a legendary
grudge match between Chrusher and Foule, and begins the ongoing serial that's been going on for over 18 years! By then-14-year-old Chris Stevens! The initial 3 pages have been digitally remastered and colored
and put next to their original counterparts. The rest is black & white pencil on lined paper, like
most of the 1st season. (8 pages, 1988.)
Here it is! Back in 1988, my very first "Chris The Crusher" comic! Now known as Chrusher Comix! Done when I was only a fourteen year old freshman at Oswego High School (in NY) at the time, and on the immature side to boot, so the stories and artwork are a testament to this fact - so give it a chance. First, you'll see the original 1988 version that I drew in a high school study hall, and then the remastered 2004 version directly below it. Again, this page was drawn in 1988 (when I was 14) and digitally remastered on Adobe Photoshop in 2004. First, you'll see the original 1988 version, and then the remastered 2004 version below. |
These "Classic Crusher Comics" were only meant as goofy doodles for my friends, never meant to be shown to anybody else. But, the comics grew in popularity and I never stopped doing them (other than then occasional hiatus to do other projects like Towner and Tee & Wee; see below links). I'd like the internet audience to read them all, but so far, not one person has read more than 20 except for me and my friends. Why not be the first and read hundreds of them, eh? Anyways, this marks the first appearance of The Crusher (in a story at least), and first (surviving) appearances of Mike Butski and Ronald "The Fool" Foule (the others were confiscated and destroyed by my middle school teachers because they were so sick). This page was drawn in 1988 and digitally remastered on Adobe Photoshop in 2004. I would digitally re-do all of them like this if I was paid to do so. For free... what you see is what you get. Read every issue. Trust me, it gets better. It had to over an 18+ year period (just keep go to the archives if this is too crappy, ok?). Remember sirs and madams... these old comics, though extremely funny, are NOT an example of my best art and stories. They are meant to show the humble beginnings of the comic and the characters, and basically at the request of THE LONGTIME FANS of Chrusher Comics (AKA my old friends) and to make read and then sense to newbies. For newcomers and first time readers, this art that I doodled when I was 14-years old is a little embarrassing, though it still has merit in the saga. Instead, for you... if you don't care for this art - even though it gets VERY funny as it goes on - then fast forward a bit, maybe to some with my better art, possibly sample my 1,000+ page archive of comics that I did through my teens, 20s and 30s! My art is much improved over the years, and it tries to re-introduce many of the older characters while introducing new ones. Plus, it starts out with a rapist/murderer ninja and even some brief nudity for the pervs! (And I get more darn web-searches looking for adult comics than people looking for comedy, adventure or drama comics, so I throw you a little bone.) However, if it makes no sense, then please go back and read the old stuff. So... again... if you don't care about art and have a while to read an entertaining saga to read it from start to finish... then start here. If you want to see some of my better inked art, then start with Episode #36! or maybe a sample of how I draw scantily-clad hot chicks here. Or maybe start with my 1st FULLY-DIGITALLY-COLORED comic here? Or, my 2007 graphic novel hereEnjoy either way! I know you will. We believe that it is the best and biggest free webcomic in the world that nobody knows about. Maybe we're biased or the other comics don't suit our taste... but that is what we believe. Any cartoonist with more or better work is getting paid and noticed and as of this writing... we're not! Ha! Anyways, please read on, and more than 1-10 pages like 99.9999% of anybody ever does. If you read the 80-90% of crappy webcomics out there, why not give this one a chance? Sheesh! Discover it! SUpport it! And I'll thank you for it! -Chris (with RaYzor, Mush, & Cow as occasional co-plotters)!
ChrusherComix Shortcut For ADD Dumbasses
OK, now, listen... Here is a really
simple Episode Navigator because I noticed that my friends (who have their
parodic caricatures in these comics) like to read every single page, but
strangers see the 1st few pages and instantly leave; passing up hundreds of
hilarious and/or well-illustrated comics. This frustrates me because I do all
that work for nothing. So, here we go. Ready? Read carefully and choose
wisely:

Visitors have loaded this many Chrusher Comic
book and graphic novel pages since November 2005:
"Classic Crusher Comics" was done between 1988-1999 as an
unpublished "sketchbook with a storyline" comic book
while the author was in school and for a short period thereafter. In 2005, it was reborn,
reprinted entirely for the world wide web as a webcomic. Now, a new graphic novel debuted, though interrelated,
not interdependent to the old archival comic books. Enjoy any
and all!
